Your Initial General Appointments usually require 30 minutes. These appointments are for diabetes assessments and general skin and nail conditions only, such as ingrown toenails, fungal nail infections, calluses, warts, cracked heels, wound management. Initial Musculoskeletal Appointments usually require 40 minutes. These appointments are usually for bone, joint and soft tissue conditions such as heel pain, tendinitis, arthritis in feet or knees, muscle pain, orthotic therapy, children’s podiatry assessments, imaging referral request forms. Some appointments may take a longer or shorter time depending on complexity of the condition. Bulk billed podiatry is applied to the consultation fee. Any additional podiatry services or retail products will incur a separate expense. For example, minor surgical procedures or custom made orthotics are not covered by Medicare.
