Am I eligible for bulk billed podiatry under Medicare?In order to receive bulk billed podiatry, you will need to obtain a valid referral from your doctor as part of a GP Management Plan (GPMP) under Team Care Arrangements (TCAs). We are able to process Medicare rebates for you. If you would like to receive bulk billed consults with our Darwin Podiatry Team, call us on 08 7924 7038 to arrange an appointment.

Do I need a referral?No, you do not need a referral to visit our Darwin Podiatry and Palmerston Podiatry clinics. You can call us on 08 7924 7038 to make an appointment. Alternatively, you can also book online or email us at admin@northernpodiatristclinic.com.au If you have a referral, please bring along the referral letter with you or inform our staff when making your appointment.

Do you accept private health insurance?Yes, we accept all private health funds for podiatry. To make things easier for you, we are able to process them on the spot through Hicaps so you only need to pay the gap fee.

What is Podiatry and what does a Podiatrist do?Podiatry is a medical profession dedicated to the study of diagnosis and treatments of foot and ankle conditions. A podiatrist is a trained healthcare specialist who helps in the prevention, diagnosis and management of the feet and lower limbs. A podiatrist can also treat complications that arise from chronic conditions such as Arthritis and Diabetes.

How long is the initial consultation?Your Initial General Appointments usually require 30 minutes. These appointments are for diabetes assessments and general skin and nail conditions only, such as ingrown toenails, fungal nail infections, calluses, warts, cracked heels, wound management. Initial Musculoskeletal Appointments usually require 40 minutes. These appointments are usually for bone, joint and soft tissue conditions such as heel pain, tendinitis, arthritis in feet or knees, muscle pain, orthotic therapy, children’s podiatry assessments, imaging referral request forms. Some appointments may take a longer or shorter time depending on complexity of the condition. If you are unsure about the type of appointment you require, give us a call on 08 7924 7038 and one of our friendly staff will be able to assist you with your queries.

Are you a bulk billing podiatry clinic?Bulk billed podiatry is applied to the consultation fee. Any additional podiatry services or retail products will incur a separate expense. For example, minor surgical procedures or custom made orthotics are not covered by Medicare.

Do you have parking?There are plenty of free parking at all our 3 podiatry clinics in Darwin, Palmerston and Coolalinga.

Where is your podiatry clinic located?Our Darwin podiatry clinic is conveniently located inside Casuarina Shopping Village, Shop 23A. Ph: 08 8992 9955 Our Palmerston podiatry clinic is right in centre of Palmerston Shopping Centre, Shop 60. Ph: 08 7924 7038 Both clinics are wheelchair friendly and have plenty of free parking.
